A product of the West Ham United youth system, Frank Lampard made his Premiership debut vs. Sheffield Wednesday in 1996. After being on loan for one season at Swansea City, he becamse a regular for the West Ham squad.

In 2001 he joined Chelsea FC and in 37 games, he scored 5 goals.

Lampard established himself as a regular of the multi-million pound Chelsea squad, and a fans' favourite. He is also second choice captain of the club, behind John Terry. Despite being a midfielder, Lampard has an impressive scoring ratio and a keen eye for goal. Lampard also contributes just as much to the Chelsea side through his goal assists. All his contributions led to the Footballer of the Year Award in 2006, along with two domestic trophies under manager Jose Mourinho.
